The latest issue of The Jaguar magazine introduces our new ‘cub’, the E-PACE compact practical sports car, which is already turning heads on the street. As we commit to electrifying every new Jaguar by 2020, we explore how pushing boundaries on the track helps develop our sports cars, from writing motorsport history at Le Mans, to taking on the Nürburgring with the extreme XE SV Project 8 and being at the very cutting edge with the FIA Formula E Championship.

XF SPORTBRAKE IT‘S HARD TO RECONCILE JAGUAR SEDAN’S TYPICAL SLEEK PROFILE WITH THE 31.7 CUBIC FEET OF CARGO SPACE. Both sports require a lot of equipment, so what better way to test the cargo space of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake? We brought you the first images of the new car last issue, but when you actually see it in person it’s hard to reconcile Jaguar sedan’s typical sleek profile with the generous 31.7 cubic feet (or 69.7 with the seats down) of cargo space. Jaguar’s design team under Ian Callum has retained the award-winning exterior of the XF sedan from the assertive upright nose to the trailing edge of the front doors. From the rear doors back, the new XF Sportbrake keeps the sedan’s hallmark haunches and its ‘spear of light’ wraparound rear lamps. Clever design like the subtle, integrated roof-rails and spoiler let the new roofline taper elegantly to the rear. Paraglider Phil Barron (left) is an expert ‘cloud surfer’ and the expansive space afforded by the new XF Sportbrake (above) is more than enough to accomodate his extensive gear. MAGNIFICENT DRIVE The car’s low drag seems particularly relevant as we drive into the breeze from Belfast along the magnificent A2 coast road, part of the Causeway Coastal Route. The area’s roads are varied, but always good: You’ve a combination of fast, open stretches over the tops of the Glens of Antrim, and tighter sections with hairpins and hair-raising gradients which lead down to the shore. JAGUAR MAGAZINE #07

JAGUAR MAGAZINE celebrates creativity in all its forms, with exclusive features that inspire sensory excitement, from seductive design to cutting-edge technology.

The latest issue features a range of inspiring people: from Luke Jennings, creator of Villanelle, one of the most interesting television characters in recent times, to Marcus Du Sautoy, who ponders whether artificial intelligence is on the brink of becoming creative. Out on the road, we visit the US to explore the foodie heaven of Portland in a Jaguar I-PACE, take a Jaguar XE to the south of France to get a photographer’s viewpoint of the charming town of Arles, and much more.
